Research Participants Needed
We are currently recruiting participants for the study: “The Digital Dilemma: Balancing Connection and Strain in the Use of New Technologies in Prisoner-Family Relationships.â€
Researchers in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice are examining how families use digital technologies—such as video calls, money transfers, inmate package services, and mobile apps—to stay connected with incarcerated loved ones.
To ensure the success of this study, we are seeking individuals with firsthand experience using these technologies. To participate, you must:
Be 18 years of age or older
Have an immediate family member currently in jail or prison
Have used one or more digital communication tools (e.g., video calls, money transfers, inmate package services, or mobile apps)
Additional eligibility criteria are listed in the attached poster.
If you're interested or have questions, please contact the Principal Investigator, Isabel Arriagada, at iarriaga@odu.edu or by phone at 571-776-7326.
Thank you for your interest and support!
