Internationally acclaimed pianist Sergei Babayan will perform ''An Evening of Chopin'' at 8 p.m. Friday in Wilson G. Chandler Recital Hall at ͹Ƶ's Diehn Center for the Performing Arts. Babayan's appearance is sponsored by Virginia Music Teachers Association and in collaboration with ͹Ƶ.

Babayan has been hailed for bringing a deep understanding and insight to a diverse repertoire. "Le Figaro" has praised his "unequaled touch, perfectly harmonious phrasing and breathtaking virtuosity." "Le Devoir" from Montreal put it simply: "Sergei Babayan is a genius. Period."

Babayan is a Deutsche Grammophon exclusive artist whose performances have been broadcast by Radio France, Polish Radio and Television, BBC-TV and BBC Radio 3, NHK Satellite Television and Medici TV.
