°¼Í¹ÊÓƵ class hosts Women Studies Celebratory Event: The Past, Present, and Future of °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ Women Studies

On April 5th, °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ students welcomed students, faculty, and community members to a panel of past and current leaders of Women's Studies at °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ and to view exhibits of the department's contributions to a thriving community.

The event honored the legacy of °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ Women's Studies educating, supporting, and empowering a diverse community for 46 years.

Attendees were welcomed with a panel featuring important figures in Women Studies: the first director of Women's Studies Dr. Nancy Topping Bazin, former department chair and Associate Dean Janet Katz, and current chair Dr. Liz Groeneveld. During the second hour, attendees browsed displays of historical artifacts from °¼Í¹ÊÓƵ Special Collections and recorded interviews with past and current Women's Studies students and faculty. Students conducted the research, created the displays, and organized and facilitated the event.
